Realine is designed for people with minor crowding issues or very small gaps in their front teeth. With Realine, dentists can close small gaps and treat orthodontic relapse — giving a straighter, more confident smile without the discomfort or disruption of traditional braces.
Lumineers are porcelain veneers that offer the painless way to a permanently whiter and perfectly aligned smile. Unlike traditional veneers, these contact lens-thin shells are applied to teeth, in some cases with minimal removal of tooth structure. Lumineers are a painless, permanent cosmetic solution for stained, chipped, discolored or misaligned teeth and can also be placed over existing crown or bridgework.
Crowns can make your teeth stronger and improve their appearance and can be used to restore teeth to their normal shape and size. Crowns can be used to cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth structure remaining. It can be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that’s already broken. A crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped. It’s also used to cover a dental implant.

Bridges help maintain the shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been.

Removable partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum colored plastic bases, which are connected by metal framework.

If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay, or injury, complete dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You’ll be able to eat and speak – things that people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost.

Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!

Our office uses root canal treatment to find the cause of and then treat problems of the tooth’s soft core (the dental pulp). Years ago, teeth with diseased or injured pulps were removed. Today, root canal treatment has given dentists a safe way of saving teeth.

Scaling and root planing are often referred to as deep cleaning, and its objective is to remove dental plaque, its products and calculus. Scaling is the removal of calculus (commonly called tartar) and plaque that attach to the tooth surfaces. The bone encasing the teeth does not like this bacteria and bone loss occurs leading to periodontal disease. This cleaning process targets the area below the gum line where plaque is more likely to stick to rough surfaces. Root planing removes any remaining calculus and smoothes irregular areas of the root surface, making the area below the gum line cleaner and making the gum tissue around the teeth healthier.
Regular visits to the dentist will ensure a healthy and beautiful smile for years to come. Dr. Brislin believes that your oral health is the gateway to overall bodily health, and proper hygiene is the first step towards achieving a healthy smile and mouth. Dr. Brislin will work with you towards developing a treatment plan to restore and maintain your oral health and provide the best possible dental care.
A thorough evaluation by Dr. Brislin will help determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants. Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture, just like a tooth.

More than fifteen percent of American adults suffer from chronic facial pain. Some common symptoms include pain in or around the ear, tenderness of the jaw, clicking or popping noises when opening the mouth, or even headaches or neck aches, usually occurring in the morning.

If you feel that you have some of these symptoms or questions regarding TMD/TMJ please ask Dr. Brislin so that she can perform a clinical evaluation in order to determine a proper course of action.

Over time, teeth may fracture or develop decay caused by multiple variables that lead to the tooth requiring a filling. Many factors influence the performance, durability, and longevity of dental restorations. Among these factors are: the patients oral and general health, the components used in the filling material, the location of the filling, and the chewing load that the tooth will bear. The end decision about what material to use is best determined by you and your dentist before treatment begins.
